As you may be aware, single serve cups come in a variety of different options and flavors. That being said, you can also choose how many ounces of coffee you can brew. Many single serve cup machines come with several volume choices. Six, eight, and ten ounces are the options that seem to be the most widely available. Different volume amounts affect the taste of the coffee. Traditionally, a six ounce cup is the standard size in which coffee is measured. Most people believe it to be eight but that is incorrect. We recommend choosing the six ounce setting for single serve brewers for the best tasting coffee. Remember, the lower the volume of water the stronger and more full-bodied your cup will be. Each of our single serve cups has 10 grams of our coffee inside of it. No more, no less. Our filters are made of an extremely porous material that allows the natural coffee oils to pass through into the cup of coffee. We also use a finer grind of coffee but not as fine as our espresso. This extracts the most flavor from the expedited brewing cycle. Our Day to Day brand offers a variety of options when buying single serve cups. Currently, we have 12 count boxes available on our website (www.daytodaycoffee.com) and 80, 120, and 200 counts available on our Amazon store page.
]]>Modern medicine has taken cues from the supposed effects of the youth-giving fountain. It could hold the answer to longevity but for now studies point in another direction; to a product that is consumed by hundreds of millions of people each day. Coffee is a substance that could be the answer to extending one's life. According to a recent study, coffee contains 1,000 biological compounds that have an effect on the human body. These compounds include folic acid and potassium which are known to have an influence on the human body such as producing new cells, chemical reactions, treating high blood pressure, and nerve signal transmission. This study lasted over a span of over ten years and collected data on 500,000 people. Researchers found that out of the 500,000 people sampled, 14,000 perished and the ones that drank the most coffee were less likely to die during the ten years that followed the study. Although the researchers stressed that this study found an association with coffee and longevity. It doesn't necessarily mean coffee leads to a longer life.
With coffee being one of the most popular beverages in the whole world it is a relief to know that coffee will not aid in your demise but instead boost liver health and help prevent cancer. Coffee drinkers were also found to have a reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, respiratory and kidney disease. Obviously this study does not account for the extras people will put in their coffee such as sugar and milk, but it is clear that these extras may not provide the same health benefits as coffee would in this particular study. By keeping up with exercise and eating the right foods, coffee can play an integral role in keeping an individual healthy and fit.
While we may not have a Fountain of Youth, we have plenty of ways of staying healthy. Fruits and vegetables, exercise, adequate sleep, as well as consuming a cup or two of Day-to-Day coffee in your diet is a great way to increase your lifespan and contribute to a viable way of life.
]]>D2D convenience: An argument for Coffee at Home
I could wait in line to get my fresh cup of joe made at the leading high end coffee guru’s, but I choose to use a Day-to-Day single-serve cup. Being able to wake up, roll out of bed, pop a cup in my Keurig is what everyone should be doing and here’s why.
Long gone are the days of drive thru pile ups. There’s nothing worse than already being late for work but needing your coffee, only to find 7 cars ahead of you in the same boat. When you make your coffee at home, you take the stress out of your morning routine and make that morning meeting on time while enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee for the entirety of your commute.
2. No More Endless Cafe Lines
Along with drive thrus, cafe lines can be equally as hectic if you live in a crowded city or get your coffee from a local shop in town. Either way you are racing against time to get to where you are going in a timely fashion. Not to mention some shops can be noisy when they are crowded and what's worse than having a specific order but the cashier mishears you and gets it wrong which leads me to the next point…
3. Your Coffee is always made right
When you have the opportunity to brew a cup of coffee at home you have the pleasure of making it however you desire. Whether you’re adding cream, sugar, milk, cane syrup, caramel, or hazelnut shavings. You can always have your coffee your way when you brew at home. You can spare yourself the disappointment if they don't get it right by skipping going to the shop and making it at home.
4. Saves Your Hard Earned Money
Day-to-Day cups give you the same amount of coffee for a fraction of the cost that you would pay for a cup of coffee at a leading competitor. For a 12 count box of single serve cups, it will cost you around 5 dollars after taxes which is 42 cents per cup of coffee. If you decide to buy a cup of coffee at a leading competitor you could end up spending approximately 2 dollars and 50 cents per cup. If you buy one everyday for 30 days you would be spending around 75 dollars versus if you spent 15 dollars on 3 boxes of 12 count single serve cups which will be enough to last you 36 days if you have one single serve cup a day. You tell me which one you would rather spend your hard earned money on.
5. Drink Quality Coffee from a Brand you Can Trust
From its inception, Day-to-Day coffee is crafted with you in mind and its premium taste is present in every cup and accessible at a great value that you can’t get from value coffee equivalents. Our roastery is dedicated to providing a fresh, bold taste, all at a value you can’t beat.
]]>Think about vanilla extract. It smells incredible, but if you were to taste is straight, it's has a hallow, empty flavor. Now add it to whiped cream with sugar and the classic vanilla flavor you love is brought to life.
Our flavored coffee is similar to this. While it's certainly drinkable black, flavored coffee is best when given a vihicle - like cream and sugar. The flavor itself doesn't contain sugar (like vanilla extract) and needs sweetness to bring out it's full flavor.
When the Day to Day Coffee Team creates flavors in house, we always blend and sample with cream and sugar added. It's the only way that we can truly taste the flavor to it's fullest.
What you add to your flavored coffee to bring out the flavor is totally customizable based on preference and dietary needs. Here's a few of our favorite pairings to get you started:
Flavor: Jamaican Me Crazy®
Add: Coconut Cream & Agave Nectar
Adding coconut cream is the perfect compliment to this tropical coffee. Agave Nectar is an awesome alternative to refined sugar and since it comes in liquid form, it easily dissolves into hot & iced coffee. The first sip will transport you the beach.
Flavor: Cinnamon Bun
Add: Cream & Brown Sugar
This is one of our favorite flavors that we make. It tastes just like fresh baked sweet bread and cinnamon will remind you of weekend mornings well spent with family. Adding brown sugar brings the cinnamon flavor forward making it just like the gooey cinnamon brown sugar mix between layers.
Flavor: Maple Bacon
Add: Cream & Maple Syrup
A lot of customers question this flavor, but time and again, it's sweet and slightly smoky flavor wins them over. We love to pair our Maple Bacon with real maple syrup and a little cream. It's like breakfast in a cup.
The bottom line: Whether you're using real sugar, a sweetener alternative, or non-dairy creamer, the simple act of adding a little cream and sweetness to your flavor coffee will make a world of difference in taste.
